Yazzy’s first introduction to art was through an after school program when she was 7 years old. Since then her interest in art had only been sporadic until the covid-19 pandemic of 2020 hit. About the same time the pandemic started, awareness on a national scale of social injustice and systemic racism amplified, as well intensified. Yazzy, a young bi-racial female, embraced art as an outlet to express her own feelings and also, to connect with her community. Art became a passion for her.
